The Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council (CTHRC) is using a new tool to measure Human Resources issues that are faced by fleets across Canada. A series of brief quarterly surveys will soon be launched to identify trends in hiring’s, layoffs, training and the general buzz surrounding related Human Resources challenges.

CTHRC is hoping to enlist the support of a number of you to respond to 4 questions every three months.  In return we will share the results with you as well as share the results we are able to get from other industry sectors that impact your business.

The questions are designed to pull together key intelligence on HR trends while being as simple and responder-friendly as possible.   I anticipate that it should take you less than five minutes to respond.

The 4 questions are as follows:

1. Hiring’s: Do you anticipate that hiring’s or recalls in your organization will be up, down or static over the next 3 months?
2. Layoffs: Do you anticipate that layoffs in your organization will be up, down or static over the next 3 months? 
   
3. Training: Is your organization’s planned investment in training over the next 3 months higher, lower or the same as last year this time?
4. The context/ the buzz:  In relation to the above 3 questions what do you consider to be the key challenge facing your company at the moment and what are the HR implications?
