EYW Class 3/D Certification

Earning Your Wheels – Class 3/D

Professional drivers do not learn their skills in a day. It is impossible to learn everything after a few trips in a truck. But with a properly structured training program, you can establish the foundation of skills that are needed for a successful career in trucking.

The Earning Your Wheels program for Class 3/D drivers is an intensive seven-week training program that includes five weeks of in-class training, followed by two weeks of supervised work experience at the wheel of a straight-body vehicle such as a dump truck with tandem axles.

After being employed as a Class 3/D driver, graduates will also qualify for the Class 1/A Earning Your Wheels Graduate program to become a Class 1/A driver. This eight-week program includes four weeks of in-class training followed by four weeks of supervised work experience with a coach certified by the Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council.

These programs are delivered exclusively through accredited schools, and by certified coaches and instructors.
